1st Semester Reflection

One effective study skill I used towards the end of 1st semester was not procrastinating and doing my English homework first. I always felt like english homework was the most tedious in my opinion and put it off. When I put off my english homework, I always forget to do it and end up turning in my blogposts, membeans, and assignments late. Once I noticed I've been doing this quite routinely, I have decided that a way to avoid not missing my english homework, is to do my english assignments first. That way I will be able to get it out of the way and always turn in my homework on time.

I am most proud of my Persepolis Design project. I am most proud of this project because it not only releases my creative writing aspect of my english skills. It also was an interesting way to do so. I am most proud of my use of symbolism and how it was expressed in my graphic novel, and my use of literary devices. Such as, juxtaposition and allusions that I used in my project. I am also very proud of myself for finishing the design project ahead of time before the due date.

The one class that I didn't achieve the academic standards that I knew I was capable of, was Spanish.
I know that my mind is the type that can soak in information very easily, and can retain information well. But for some reason I never found myself getting around to doing so when it came to Spanish class. I find the grammar concepts easy for me to understand but when it comes to the assessments I always butcher my vocabulary. Towards the end of my 1st semester I found myself improving upon the skill of studying for vocabulary throughout the week instead of cramming in my vocabulary terms the night before. I still need to grow in this department, and am planning on doing so this 2nd semester.

Even though E-Learning is a class created to teach technology and electronics, this class actually helped me practice my writing for reflections and blogposts. I have also noticed that this class has used websites to teach us how to use them before using them in our classes such as World Cultures and English. I actually find this class very helpful, as much as I don't like doing the extra work, I can't ignore the fact that E-Learning has let me practice my writing skills and prepare for classes.

My goal for Second semester is to continue to not procrastinate and I will achieve this by not doing things last minute, may it be assignments or studying for examinations.
